Compilations

Celtic Christmas II

Phil Cunningham, Manus Lunny, James Galway, Luka Bloom, Kevin Burke and Seamus Egan contribute to these uplifting arrangements that beautifully reflect the joy and spirit of the holiday season. "The Dove's Return" is an original piece which Áine wrote to reflect the spirit of the Season. It is a solo harp instrumental with a seasoning of vocals for variety.

Celtic Heartbeat Christmas

This album includes Nightnoise, Altan and several more wonderful Celtic groups from both sides of the Atlantic. Áine recorded "Óiche Chuain," which is Silent Night sung in Gaelic with a new instrumental introduction which she wrote.

Celtic Love

A compilation of mostly tradition Irish singers, including Delores Keane, Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh, Aine Ui Cheallaigh and instrumentals by Declan Masterson & Mary Bergin. Áine's track is an old song in Gaelic called "Airde Cuan" sung a capella, with a seascape in the background.

Celtic Spirit

An album of Celtic Spiritual music. Both songs are from "The Mysts of Time." The first Kyrie Eleison is a textured vocal blend of excerpts from "Ceol an Aifrinn" written by the great Limerick-born composer Seán Ó Riada (1931-1971) and is still the most popular Irish-language Mass sung in Ireland today.

The second selection is "Puer Natus in Bethlehem" or "A Child if Born in Bethlehem", learned by Áine from the singing of the Benedictine nuns on the Isle of Wight and is intriguingly flecked with the prayerful murmurs you might hear in a cloister.

".....Favorite tracks include Áine Minogue singing "Kyrie Eleison, An Ghlóir, An Phaidir," in a brilliantly textured vocal blend taken from "Ceol an Aifrinn."

Celtic Visions

Celtic Vision is a Dreamy Collection of Celtic Music from the Best of Ireland and Beyond. Artists include James Galway and Phil Coulter; Carlos Nunez and Cherish the Ladies. Three of the tracks feature Áine: "Silence," "Rosemary Faire," and "Sleep Song" from her "Between the Worlds" album.

Celtic Wave

The track "Exile" from "Between the Worlds" and "Gabhaim Molta Bride" from " Circle of the Sun" appear on this RCA Victor compilation. James Galway and the Boston Pops are also on the compilation.

Dublin to Dakar

African, Gypsy, Latin, Arabic, Indian, Scandinavian and Reggae elements are combined with Celtic music to create a unique, cross-cultural musical feast. Artists include Alan Stivell with Youssou, Baka Beyond, Capercaillie with Subeba, Kila, Oysterband and Modena City Ramblers. They choose "Ó Boro Braindí Braindí" from the "Circle of the Sun" album.

Echoes Living Room Series, Vol. 4

Echoes is a nationally syndicated NPR program broadcast by John Diliaberto. Echoes has been wonderfully supportive of Áine's music and that of the other musicians included on this compilation, including Pierre Bensusan, Paul Winter, Hans Christian, David Darling & Ketil Bjornstad, Liz Story, Will Ackermann and Irina Mikhailova.

We encourage you to visit the Echoes Website and find when they are broadcasting in your area - it's a wonderful and daring mix of all styles of music. We thank Echoes and John Diliaberto for their continued support of Áine's music and all acoustic musicians.

Exotica - World Music Divas

Áine was particularly happy to be included with this wonderfully talented group of female singers from around the world including the Mammas, Cesaria Evora, Shai no Shai, Ofra Haza and Nina Pastori with Radio Tarifa. The track is "Ó Boro Braindí Braindí" from "Circle of the Sun."

To Bless The Space Between Us.

John O'Donohue reads from his new book of poetry "To Bless the Space Between Us."

You can hear Aine's music on this album, as well as John's other spoken albums....

Winter's Tale

One of Áine's favorite albums, she enjoys the wonderful company of Jimmy MacCarthy, Solas, Altan, Lunasa, Susan McKeown, and Delores and Sean Keane. It has great variety and really reflects a lot of the wonderful variation in styles coming out of Ireland.

Áine's track is entitled "Hunting the Wren." It's an up-tempo instrumental, which was inspired by her days of "Hunting the Wren" as a child. Historically, a wren was captured and was though to bring luck for the new year, but by Áine's time, it was the term given to the musicians who went from gathering to gathering playing music on "St. Steven's Day" (December 26th), and "passing the hat."

She was joined by Boston residents Matt Glover and Tony Cuffe - who are also transplants. Matt hails from Newfoundland and stayed in Boston after his years attending Berkeley. He plays electric mandolin, bass and bouzouki on the track. Tony Cuffe is from Scotland and was a founding member of the renowned group "Ossian." Even though Tony is known for his singing and guitar playing - he plays Irish whistle on this track. Her husband, Brian also appears on the track - hopefully the first of many. Brian added rhythm with a bodhran (Irish drum) track.
